The Long Night:
Last night was a very long night for Shayla and Mom. We slept in the living room so I could tend to her if she needed it.
We changed the dressing on her nose (taped below the nose like a mustache to catch drainage from the surgical site inside the nose) every hour until about 1:20 a.m. then we changed it again at 3:00. At 4:00 or 4:30 a.m. I changed the dressing again, then went to my own bed to try to get some sleep. Shayla was not in any pain or other discomfort and the drainage seemed to be slowing.
Dr. Beck called about 5:45 p.m. (just after I left to pick up Jarin!) No news from pathology yet. Dr. Beck has already spoken with a Dr. Chang at St. Luke's MSTI and she is now on Shayla's team of doctors.
Dr. Mulder, our family doctor, called this evening, too. He was pretty much at a loss for words. He said this is a first for him. I told him, 'leave it to the Frenches to help him have his first experience with a sinus tumor!"

Thanks for keeping us informed via Shayla's blog...I agree with Lis that this is the best way to keep us all informed without hounding you with phone calls. If you need anything I will be there in an instant...
Shayla, although many of your extended family lives many miles away know that we are telling Heavenly Father that we expect much from him rigth now for you and we love you oodles :-)
