Shayla had another regularly scheduled follow-up scan yesterday. It was one of those hard days for me as Mom. The whole thing was a miserable experience for Shayla, and the worst part is that it is probably my doing that created the stressful environment for her. Let's just say that worrying for a week about a needle stick does not do well for anyone who HATES needles! It was a very bad evening. One I hope we don't repeat ever again. In the end, only half of the MRI was done. Shayla had had enough and we had to get her out of the machine and out of the hospital. Hopefully the chest x-ray and MRI without contrast will be sufficient this time around. the blood draw will just have to wait until we are back at MSTI to see Dr. Chang next week.
Today, Shayla's spirits are better and she even giggled---just a little--in the car while driving us around for errands. I love to hear my children smile!
