We're still good

The most recent scans done in August came back clear of any new developments. As Dr. Chang is always quick to tell us, her scans will never be 'normal' because there has been so much changed with the surgery to remove her tumor. But, 'unchanged' from the previous scan is what we like to hear.

When we met with Dr. Chang in August Shayla was totally herself. She bantered back and forth as any normal, healthy teen would: trying to weasel her way out of something she doesn't feel she needs to do. However, it was such a good thing to see and hear Shayla being so alive and well!

Now she is a sophomore and starting to like the freedoms high school seems to offer her. I just have to remind her that she is only 15 and still needs mom or dad's permission to go off to a football game, even if it is with her brother!

I count it a HUGE blessing that Shayla is what and who she is today. Last year we could only rely on faith and hope. This year we know she is well!
