Chemo is going well

It's Sunday, and we have been here 4 days!! It has been nice to watch the mountain thunder storms over Bogus Basin for the past couple of days. We have the big picture window to our private 'light show' put on by God Himself!

Shayla has been 'kind of' bored this chemo session, which, if you think about it, is really a good thing! That's because she is feeling well-enough to be bored. I know, sometimes my thoughts are bit convoluted! I am trying to keep an eye on the positive side of things ;-)

Althougth Shayla is feeling better than the previous chemo, she has been tired and had a feeling of being wiped out. No surprise: her hematocrit is on the low side. So, tonight she is getting her first blood transfusion. I understand the process is lengthy, so we are lucky it will be during her sleeping hours. She may get awakened by the temp. checks the nurses need to do every hour, but at least it will be taken under her arm.

Another day to be thankful. Shayla is doing well. We spent time together as a family when Jase brought in the whole crew and played Apples to Apples for awhile, and now Shayla is resting peacefully.
